As News 12 has reported, two lifeguards were bitten by sharks in separate attacks about a week and a half ago at Smith Point and last week at Ocean Beach, Fire Island.

The lifeguard who was bitten on July 3 at Smith Point headed back to work Thursday for the first time since the attack.

Zach Gallo was bitten in his hand and hit in the chest by the shark's tale during a training exercise.
