A Brooklyn organization is helping families who otherwise could not afford to celebrate the Jewish New Year.
Be Proud, a local charity, and the Cherry Hill Gourmet Supermarket gave out care packages to more than 30 families in Sheepshead Bay Monday.
Organizers say they that while they are helping Jewish families today, they are really about helping everyone in need.
The Jewish New Year begins this Wednesday, and volunteers were sure to include many different fruits in the care packages to ensure the families have a very sweet new year.
