Less than two weeks after police shot and killed a Bronx bodega worker escaping from an armed robbery, a local politician is calling for a review of the NYPD in light of the spike of police-involved shootings.

Less than two weeks after police shot and killed a Bronx bodega worker escaping from an armed robbery, a local politician is calling for a review of the NYPD in light of the spike of police-involved shootings.
Assemblyman Eric Stevenson (D-The Bronx) has introduced legislation in the state Assembly that he says would create reforms to reduce police shootings.
"We're calling for the retraining of police officers... to go back and know how to better deal with our community before pulling a trigger," says Stevenson.
