As violence on the streets claims the lives of countless teens, leaving grieving families behind - mothers joined together to help each other cope with the intense loss in Canarsie Sunday.
Sherma Knickles, the mother of Tyler Knickles, founded the Long Live King Kobe Foundation after her son was brutally stabbed to death.
Mothers and families at the healing event sat around tables with pictures of their lost children and ate as they listened to stories of their loss, pain and healing.
The Long Live King Kobe Foundation is also looking to reach out to grieving mothers and youth in the community.
Sherma Knickles says she plans to hold a candle lighting ceremony on Dec. 23 - the one-year anniversary of her son's death.
