Friends and family in the Bronx remembered a 12-year-old girl Thursday who drowned in the Niagara River in Buffalo during what was supposed to be a fun vacation.
Magdalena Lubowska's body was discovered this week by Kayakers after she was swept away by the river's raging waters Aug. 13 when she veered off a trail and slipped on a mossy rock.
The 12-year-old was remembered during services as a student, a star athlete and one loved by everyone she touched.
Lubowska was supposed to begin school next week at P.S. 360. School officials have not yet said how they plan to address her passing with her classmates.
