The man accused of shooting two people, including an off-duty NYPD officer, pleaded not guilty today to the charges against him in court today.
Joseph Baez, 21, of Morris Heights, is accused of opening fire in University Heights in June leaving two people injured.
Baez is charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Baez will remain behind bars until his next court appearance on Oct. 3.
