A man has been arrested in the weekend stabbing death of an off-duty paramedic.
Police say Enrique Pizarro has been charged with possession of a deadly weapon and murder.
Officials say Jason Ruiz, a 30-year-old EMT was at an ex-girlfriend?s house early Sunday morning when there was a knock on the door. Pizarro, also an ex-boyfriend, allegedly confronted Ruiz and stabbed him twice in the chest.
Family members of Ruiz are relieved that an arrest was made so quickly. Ruiz was to be recognized by officials after saving a stricken woman on New York City subway tracks.
Off-duty EMT stabbed to death
