Man charged with attempted murder in Totowa shooting

A Paterson man is facing several charges for a shooting that took place last month in Totowa, according to authorities.

New Jersey State Police say they were called to Route 80 West and Union Boulevard just before 12 p.m. on Jan. 31.

Upon arrival, they found an 18-year-old female from Teaneck and a 36-year-old male from Paterson. Neither were injured.

Troopers arrested 25-year-old Fabian Perez at the scene. The charges against him include attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.

The events leading up to the shooting were not immediately clear.
