The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office has announced a man from Jamesburg has been found guilty of double murder and aggravated arson for the 2019 murder of two men, including his father.
According to authorities, Jaree Kitchen, 24, was convicted of the murder of his father, Clifford Kitchen Jr., 53 and Gregory Fisher, 53, both from Jamesburg, following the two-week trial.
Authorities say Kitchen was also found guilty of aggravated arson, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of desecrating human remains and tampering with evidence related to the murders.
Authorities say the incident occurred on Nov. 4, 2019 during a physical altercation with his father, which resulted in the stabbing of him and another resident of the home. Two days later, Kitchen set the house on fire in attempt to cover up the murders.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 28.
