Volunteers and local politicians tried to call attention to the cause of domestic abuse today with a march around Marine Park.
"Statistically, the rate of attack and abuse is on the rise,? Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer said from the event.
Education is key, volunteers say. Domestic violence survivor Regina Green says it is important to tell victims not to be ashamed and to get out of abusive situations any way possible.
Participants also handed out literature advocating their message to passersby.
