Mayor Bill de Blasio announced an ambitious legal aid program to help immigrants at the National Immigrant Integration Conference in Downtown Brooklyn Monday.
De Blasio announced a $7.9 million program called ActionNYC to provide legal screenings for immigrants. 
Lawyers participating in the program will also help prepare applications for citizenship.
The first day of the three-day conference also saw Gov. Andrew Cuomo deliver a keynote speech.
