Mayor Bill de Blasio honored firefighters Thursday who saved three Brooklyn boys from a fire.
Tremaine, Trevele and Darian Belton were rescued Tuesday from a fire that broke out in the Pink Houses Tuesday in East New York.
Police say the grandfather who was supposed to be looking after the boys ran out of the building without them.
FDNY firefighters were able to save Tremaine and Darian by pulling them through the window of the fourth-floor apartment in a bucket ladder. Rookie firefighter Justin Tallett fought through the blaze to save Trevele, who was critically injured.
Mayor de Blasio says the firefighters' quick thinking made all the difference.
Trevele is currently recovering at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
The Administration for Children's Services says they are now investigating the circumstances of the incident.
