With Passover starting at sundown this coming Monday, the Met Council for Jewish Poverty held a food giveaway on Tuesday.
The council distributed food at over 200 places across the tri-state area, including helping out hundreds of families in Borough Park, giving them chicken, eggs, produce, matzo and more.
"To take something off of peoples plate and say look, you don't have to worry about your friends and family, you can focus really on just providing the holiday, obviously that's something that terribly significant for people," said David Greenfield, CEO of the Met Council.
