A mobile market initiative is making grocery shopping easier for some Crown Heights residents.
Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo helped bring the mobile market -- only the second in the borough -- to the neighborhood. Every first Tuesday of the month people from Crown Heights and Prospect Lefferts Gardens can pick up free bags of groceries.
Residents say the market is helpful because with rent increasing and incomes staying stagnant, finding fresh food is a challenge in the area.
"Food prices are tremendously high and I think it's a wonderful thing that they're doing this," says Lunette James, of Crown Heights.
