A Brooklyn mother says when she went to pick up her daughter from day care earlier this week, she instead found her 3-year-old walking down the street.
Nicole Michelle says she went to pick up her daughter, Nia, from the Raven Learning Center and was shocked to see her daughter outside the building and walking down the street.
The child told her mother that the staff at the school had called her name and she went outside to look for her mother.
Michelle says she entered the school looking for answers, but none of the staff could explain how or why Nia had been able to leave the premises.
News 12 reached out to both the school and the Department of Education, and they say they are looking into the matter.
