The city Department of Transportation announced it will add more Citi Bikes in many of the city’s busiest areas – all before the L train shuts down for more than a year.
A total of 2,500 new docks will be added, along with 1,250 new bicycles in places like Manhattan and Williamsburg.
Citi Bike also says it will temporarily add 1,000 pedal assist bikes during the shutdown. A small electronic motor will help riders make the more difficult trip across the Williamsburg Bridge.
