THIS WEEK: It's been a chilly winter in The Bronx. We haven't seen extreme temperatures (and are running below average for snowfall), but the consistency of freezing weather has many people itching for mild days - and they're in the forecast. Overall, this will be a dry week with two chances for stray showers.
SUNDAY: Today is sunny to start with a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the 40s. Overnight temperatures will drop to near 30 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and calm wind.
MONDAY: Skies clear on Monday morning and temperatures will be a few degrees higher, in the upper 40s in a few neighborhoods during the afternoon. Winds are light and variable in the morning and are south at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Cloudy skies are expected later in the day with a sprinkle possible.
MIDWEEK: A surge of mild air arrives for the middle of the week. Temperatures will be cooler out east and to our north, but elsewhere we expect afternoon highs to reach 50 degrees. Cloudy skies are expected Tuesday and Thursday with a scattered shower. The pick of the week is Wednesday.
NEXT WEEKEND: March starts off nicely on Saturday, but cold and dry conditions are expected next Sunday.
