The MTA says when it comes to all those weekend interruptions on the L train, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. L train service has been interrupted on the weekends since 2003. But the MTA says the L train has now been reprogrammed with a new computer system that will allow it to run more often. It will also soon feature up-to-the-minute announcements on the status of incoming trains.
The update of the L train's computer system has gone $30 million over budget. It was originally supposed to be completed last year.
