Sick straphangers and maintenance are holding up subway trips, according to a new MTA tracking program.
The program found a 27 percent increase in delays during a recent 12-month period compared to the same time frame in the previous 12-month timeframe.According to the agency, 581 commuters got sick compared to 419 in the last period. The MTA also blames delays on straphangers who hold open doors.
The program is similar to the NYPD's CompStat, which tracks crime in neighborhoods.
The MTA says its version is in its infancy.
