MTA: Train service restored between Northport, Kings Park following broken rail
Train service has been restored between Northport and Kings Park after crews made repairs to a broken rail in a single-track territory, according to the MTA.
At around 8 p.m. Tuesday, the MTA said it was ordering buses, and once they were secured, eastbound trains to Port Jefferson would offload at Northport. Travelers would be able to transfer to bus service to Kings Park and then resume train service eat.
Westbound trains from Port Jefferson would offload at Kings Park, where customers would be able to transfer to bus service to Northport, where eastbound train service resumes.
