Multiple Greenpoint businesses given 90-day extension before lease terminations

Multiple Greenpoint businesses along West Street and Greenpoint Avenue have been given a 90-day extension to vacate.
It comes a month after they were given lease terminations and told they would have to get out by Nov. 30.
Some business owners told News 12 that the lease terminations stem from a plan to build apartments at those locations. An official plan for the vacated stores has not yet been confirmed by the old or new building owners.
Not all stores plan on staying for that long. Pet Supplied has secured a new location, and they will be moving in two to three weeks. Full Frontal Beauty has also secured a new location and will be moving this week.
“It’s a family neighborhood, Greenpoint always has been. So I think it’s definitely a loss for Greenpoint as a whole," said Zoey, a former Greenpoint business owner.
