A man injured in a shootout with police last weekend has succumbed to his injuries.
Police say 22-year-old Naim Owens was charged with attempted murder after engaging in a shootout with police in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Aug. 31. 
Officer John Hirschberger, of the 79th Precinct, was hit in the thigh during the exchange of gunfire. He was treated at Kings County Hospital and released.
Owens was shot in the upper back. He was expected to recover, but died Saturday morning.
