Monday marked National Thrift Shop Day, as thrift shops across New York City provide second-hand goods, including clothes, toys and household items.
Buying second-hand goods can save money and reduce waste.
Thrift store owner Jess Master says that the day is a chance to step back in time, but also a way to be green, as buying used clothes can be a good form of recycling.
"It's a huge part of being conscious of what you're purchasing, and how that impacts the environment, and then being able to wear things over and over again," Master says.
