A Brooklyn woman is facing major backlash for leaving her dogs outside during this past weekend's blizzard.
Evelyn Tully Costa, of Crown Heights, says the dogs were left in an uninsulated shed, and one of the dogs was howling because it didn't want to be outside. She posted video of the dogs to Facebook, and it eventually went viral.
Costa says the owner has been neglecting the dogs -- a short-haired pit bull and chow mix -- for a long time. The animals are typically left outside 24 hours each day, no matter the weather, she says.
Costa reached out to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, police and even the City Council regarding the alleged abuse.
The ASPCA tells News 12 that it is aware of the situation, but Costa says more should be done to protect animals in the city.
