The Canarsie Pier is a place known for fishing and beautiful views, but neighbors say it also has some serious problems. 

People living in the area complain that the pier is in disrepair, with loose pillars, missing light fixtures, rusting fences and benches, and bare trees. 

Residents say it's a shame that the pier has fallen into poor condition because the location has a lot of potential. They're hoping the city will consider doing something about it. 

A spokesperson for the Gateway National Recreation Area, which is responsible for the pier, told News 12 that they know it's very important to the community. The group adds that it's working to install temporary lights while waiting for a larger repair project to begin.
