The Brooklyn borough president unveiled a special space just for breastfeeding moms in Borough Hall Friday.
The brand new lactation lounge will be open to any nursing mother who is working in the building or in the neighborhood.
Laws currently allow women to breast feed their babies anywhere, but mothers who spoke with News 12 say people often make rude comments when they are nursing in public.
They say having a quiet place to feed their babies is very helpful.
The borough president says he will be introducing legislation in the City Council to create similar spaces in other government buildings throughout the city.
