New 'Cursed Child' star speaks to News 12 about life as a Harry Potter fan

A new cast member from “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” on Broadway spoke to News 12 about life as a Harry Potter fan.
Nadia Brown says she had a lifelong fascination with Hogwarts before becoming part of the play.
"I started reading [Harry Potter] when I was 6 years old. I remember reading the first book, loving the story,” Brown says.
Brown plays Rose Granger-Weasley, the daughter of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley - Harry Potter's niece.
In an interview from her dressing room at the Lyric Theatre, Brown says as a child she identified with the character of Harry Potter.
"I think there's something about Harry in that he is kind of an odd man out in his own family. And then he finds his people in Hogwarts. And I knew that was just like me," Brown says. "I was shy, I didn't have a lot of friends and I didn't know how to express myself well until I found dance, until I found acting."
“Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” takes place 20 years after the last book, and focuses on the next generation of wizards and witches as they go off to Hogwarts to learn their magic powers.
