The Transit Workers Union, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams teamed up with other city officials and residents to file a lawsuit against the MTA.
They’re calling on a judge to stop the MTA from making additional bus service cuts after they say the MTA already cut 10% in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan.
The lawsuit claims these cuts came after the abrupt halt to the controversial congestion pricing plan. The MTA was expecting to get about $15 billion from this plan so they can fund various expansions and upgrades.
News 12’s Lindsay Tanney is at Fordham Plaza to see if Bronx residents are experiencing longer wait times and overcrowding on the bus.
