A new app dedicated to Prospect Park aims to help visitors explore the area.
The app was created by the Prospect Park Alliance with funds from the Brooke Astor fund for New York City education.
It has an interactive map and features several destination categories that include family-friendly fun, historic monuments, recreation, natural areas and spots perfect for those with dogs.
Users can track their activity in the park through a log that keeps them up-to-date on where they have and have not been. There is a section with games and challenges testing knowledge of the park's history. It also keeps users abreast of the latest news and events in the park, in addition to general information including hours, directions, permits and more.
The Prospect Park app is available for free on both Android and iOS devices.
