People who use the app will now be given the option to start an audio recording before their ride begins or even during the trip.
The ride sharing service says this new feature can help encourage safe and comfortable interactions and ultimately add an extra layer of safety to the trip.
To start an audio recording, Uber says that option will be available in your safety tool kit on the There are some privacy limitations with this new feature.
Uber says no one will be able to listen to the recording, including the company, unless a driver or the rider chooses to submit a safety report to Uber, then you'll have the option to attach that audio file.
