Beginning on Wednesday, school children will no longer have to wear their face coverings, but it all depends where you go to school.
If your child attends a private Catholic school across the city, then they will no longer need to wear face coverings. But, if your child goes to a public school, then your child will need to wear their masks a little longer.
The Archdiocese of New York says it won’t enforce mask regulations in the city as it looks to end its mask mandates on March 7.
However, schoolchildren across the state won’t need to wear them either. The announcement comes from Gov. Kathy Hochul who says her office would track case rates among schools after the winter break.
The mayor’s office says they will make a final decision on Friday before committing to March 7.
The governor says that even after tomorrow, her office will still monitor trends.
