Health officials say there are no other cases of anthrax in Brooklyn after a man, who was working in a Brooklyn warehouse, contracted the disease last week.
Vado Diomande, 44, was diagnosed with anthrax after being exposed to unprocessed animal hides. He had brought the hides to a warehouse where he makes drums. The Department of Health confirmed small traces of anthrax spores were found at the warehouse and an extensive cleanup has begun.
Meanwhile, the home of a Crown Heights man was investigated for traces of anthrax. The man had been working on the animal hides that he received from Diomande. Tests on the home came up negative for anthrax. So far, no other people have been shown symptoms of the disease. However, a few people remain on preventive antibiotics.Related Stories:Condition of man who contracted anthrax in BK worsens Residents concerned after man contracts anthrax at BK storage space Man treated for anthrax contracted from animal hides at BK storage space
