For its seventh year in a row, the Northeast Bronx Community Farmer's Market has made a home in the borough, bringing fresh produce and community-conscious activities with it.

"We are very much about making sure that people have access to great food," says Angela Torres, president of the Throggs Neck Community Alliance. "That's why we have connections with farmers so that the food has been directly picked."

With help from her team, Torres partners with locally sourced vendors and farmer's alike, all with the intention to end food insecurity in a brough stricken with it.

"Our kids go for cheap drinks, cheap foods," says Maurice Tyson, owner of Miss Myrtle's Chocolate Chip Cookies - an organic bakery. "I want to be a small part of the solution."

Attendees of the highly anticipated market we're able to indulge in farm-to-table produce, seasonal baked goods, face-painting, a craft table and a cooking demo booth to show families how to provide health-conscious meals.

Those looking to attend the next market can do so every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the De Rosa O'Boyle Triangle until Nov. 2.
