This year Nyack High School students are performing "Grease."
As the drama club was rehearsing this week ahead of opening night, a star from the iconic production made a surprise guest appearance.
Didi Conn, who played "Frenchy" in the original hit film, stopped by. She not only brought the cast and crew her wisdom, but snacks too.
The local Rockland resident took a photo with 11th grader Tela Kopacz who was cast to play the role of Frenchy.
"I'm so flabbergasted," said Kopacz. "The whole experience was just amazing."
Kopacz says Conn told her to incorporate the character into her life. The high school junior, who wants to pursue a career in the arts, says she was inspired by the encounter.
"I'm from Nyack and that's a very small town and I see people like 'oh, you have to move to LA' and stuff," said Kopacz. "So seeing, amazing people, like Didi Conn in Nyack. I was like 'Wow, it doesn't really matter where you are.'''
Conn got tickets to see the show and News 12 is hearing she plans to watch the cast hit the stage.
They will perform this Friday and Saturday as well as next Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are available for purchase here.
