Wednesday
night marked the first of 10 free summer concerts across the five boroughs.
The
NYC Concert Series brings free live music across the city. Wednesday night’s
concert in Wingate Park had back-to-back performances from artists, gospel
singers, DJs and more.
Those
who helped put these shows on for New Yorkers are excited to help bring people
together as New York tries to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Times
have changed since COVID,” said Dan Otero, president of Globe Star Media, one
of the main organizers of the NYC Concert Series. “I think it’s important those
that don’t have can enjoy and come together and rise up.”
Different
local performers will be taking the stage each week across New York City for
the concert celebration.
