The Bayview Houses in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn are just one of hundreds of New York Housing Authority buildings that are receiving a digital upgrade, according to officials.
NYCHA says its new app is a way to limit the amount of paperwork required to be filled out by tenants who are requesting assistance with things like repairs.
It says by using its new app, tenants will be able to send repair requests directly to maintenance workers.
The app was rolled out last year, NYCHA says, but with limited request access only inside tenants units. However, it says now tenants can request repairs inside the public space of their building.
Tenants can also sign up to receive real time alerts about outages in their buildings and other notifications.
