Mold in the walls, a washer machine out of commission and water seeping between the cracks are just a handful of issues one resident says she is facing inside her apartment at the Howard Houses.
Martha Gomez says that for three months, she’s had little to no repairs from NYCHA after numerous complaints. She says cleaning up leaking water has become a chore she knows all too well.
Gomez says it's a recurring leak issue that first happened two years ago and has been an ongoing issue for three months.
She says the leaking water is making it impossible for her to pursue her true passion, cooking.
Gomez says she’s received ticket numbers and has complained several times, but that each time a repair job is scheduled, no one shows up.
She says her washing machine is also out of commission due to the busted pipe. Gomez tells News 12 she takes pride in her apartment and keeps it clean.
Gomez says she wants nothing more than to be back in the kitchen, without a wet floor waiting to be mopped up.
News 12 has reached out to NYCHA and has not heard back yet.
