Two men threatened to light fire to a check-cashing shop during an attempted robbery early Tuesday morning, police say.
Police released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking the public for help identifying them.
They say the men tried to rob Pay-O-Matic on Bushwick Avenue.
Officials say one of the suspects passed a note demanding money to a female employee. They say the second suspect sprayed a liquid through the glass partition and threw batteries wrapped with tape at the glass, then threatened to light the store on fire and blow it up.
The employee refused to comply, and the suspects left empty-handed.
The suspects are described as two black or Hispanic males, about 25 to 30 years old. One man was wearing dark clothing, a white hard hat and blue gloves. The other man was wearing a blue-hooded sweater, a white mask and blue gloves.
