NYPD officers escorted a mother who was in labor to the hospital.

Sources say that on April 15, detectives who just finished responding to another crime were flagged down by a man on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

The man told the officers that his daughter was going into labor and that it was high-risk pregnancy. Detectives immediately initiated an emergency escort to get the family to NYU Langone Hospital. The Sheriff’s Department also joined the entourage.

Detectives notified EMS of the situation, and EMS alerted the hospital.

The mother was able to deliver a healthy baby.
