NYPD Explorers lead Brownsville anti-violence walk

Concern over gun and gang violence across New York City was the focus of an anti-violence walk in Brownsville Sunday.
The Hip Hop Hope Guns Down Stop The Violence Walk comprised of teenagers from the NYPD Explorers club, joining police officers and other community members as they walked through the streets.
The crowds came with a clear message to protect area children from violence.
Many involved say the lack of resources in the community contributes to gun violence.
But they also pointed to positive organizations like the Explorers and sports teams to help teens stay out of trouble.
The walk held extra meaning for the Explorers who lost a member in Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz when he was killed outside of a bodega in June.
