A 27-year-old is recovering in the hospital after a gunman opened fire at a McDonald’s drive-thru in East New York.
It happened just before 4 p.m. Monday.
Police say the 27-year-old victim was in the passenger seat of a car at a McDonald’s on Pennsylvania Avenue when the gunman opened fire.
Investigators say he was hit in the back and the arm.
The person who was behind the wheel was not hit and police say they drove about a half a mile away to Bushwick Avenue and Furman Avenue, where they pulled over.
The victim was then rushed from there to the hospital in critical condition. He is now in stable condition.
News 12 spoke to someone who heard the shots as they were walking down the street
"I was coming out to take a walk. I heard one, maybe two shots and then a little while later I saw all the police vehicles coming up Pennsylvania Avenue to McDonald's," says Richard Holder, of East New York.
At this point police have not released any sort of motive and tell News 12 they are still searching for the shooter.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
