Ten graduates were sworn in as the newest mounted officers from the New York City Police Department’s Remount School of Horsemanship.
The ceremony took place at the NYPD’s horse facility in Pelham Bay Park.
This was the first in-person graduation since the start of the pandemic.
“Graduation day was beautiful, our families are here, Executives from the Police Department and I'm just so proud of everything that we've done with our training this summer,” said NYPD graduate Detective Brian Magoolaghan.
The NYPD named five of the horses after officers who sacrificed their lives to protect others.
