NYPD detectives say a homicide suspect armed with a knife was killed Friday evening after a police-involved shooting in Flatbush.
They say officers responded to an apartment, located at 485 East 21st St. at around 5:20 p.m.
Officials say the officers were searching for a man wanted for an open and active bench warrant and suspected of other crimes.

Detectives say the found a man, later identified as 38-year-old Vilmond Jean Baptiste, hiding in the bathtub.
Police say they noticed that he was armed with a knife and asked him numerous times to drop it.
They say a sergeant used a taser on the man but it did not work.
Police say Baptiste advanced toward the officers - and three of them fired numerous times at Baptiste.
Officers then began to render lifesaving measures.
Police say Baptiste was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Officers were also taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
Detectives say Baptiste had one prior arrest in 2015 for reckless endangerment.
Police say Baptiste was also a person of interest in two separate homicides, involving three people.
