NYPD: Man killed, woman injured in Highbridge stabbing; suspect in custody

The NYPD says 65-year-old Jose Ortiz was taken into custody at the scene.

Police say a man is dead and a woman is recovering after they were stabbed in Highbridge Friday night. 
Officers say a 911 call around 9 p.m. led them to find 45-year-old Tyrone Quick with stab wounds to the chest and a 39-year-old woman with stab wounds to the arm outside an apartment building at 1212 University Ave. 
Police say Quick was unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital. The woman is in stable condition.  
Police say the assault happened after the attacker confronted the woman about being too loud.
The NYPD says 65-year-old Jose Ortiz was taken into custody at the scene. He faces charges for murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, attempted manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
