An MTA train conductor was attacked inside the DeKalb Avenue station, according to police.

News 12 is told it all began when the suspect asked the conductor for directions and she explained he was on the wrong platform.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 10, when the 33-year-old woman was working on a southbound D train.

Police say she just pulled into the DeKalb Avenue station when the suspect came up to her and asked for directions. 

When she told him he was on the wrong platform, police say he punched her through the window and flicked a lit cigarette at her before running off.

The conductor was taken to the hospital where police say she was treated for bruising to her shoulder.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call police.
