Police are questioning the husband of a police officer in connection to the shooting of an undercover NYPD officer in Park Slope Saturday.
According to police, three undercover officers were in an unmarked car at Prospect Place and Sixth Avenue in Park Slope at around 4 a.m. when they were approached by a white Acura SUV. They say after a verbal exchange, someone in the Acura started shooting and sped off. Officer Andrew Suarez was hit under the arm, above his bullet-proof vest. Police later found the car with a female officer behind the wheel. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says that officer?s husband is one of two men being questioned in the shooting.
Suarez was wounded in the neck and is expected to recover. Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NYC) says it is the first shooting of a city police officer this year.
