Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is reportedly reshuffling NYPD resources in order to better crack down on crime in Brooklyn and city.
According to the New York Times, Kelly says the NYPD will be increasing counterterrorism measures on subways. A ?gun suppression squad? will also be created in the shuffle, which will merge two firearm units. Kelly adds more police officers will now be posted at the most dangerous housing projects. The NYPD is even considering turning some apartments in the projects into police command posts.
All of the changes are expected to take effect on February 1.
