Police say the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in East New York Thursday has ties to the outcome of a video game.
The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the head before 9:45 p.m. in a Miller Avenue building, according to authorities. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
Police say they believe the suspect and the victim were playing video games together. The suspect pulled out a gun in a "celebratory manner" and fired the fatal shot.
Investigators are questioning two people in connection with the incident. One of them is the shooter, according to sources.
The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of his family.
