The NYPD says two men were shot in Flatbush on Monday evening.

Police say a 51-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 25-year-old man was shot in the hand.

Witnesses say they told investigators they saw another man take off in a black sedan.

Residents in the area say it was a road rage incident, but this has not been confirmed by police.

Both men were taken to the hospital and are said to be in stable condition.

"We heard, we heard rounds of gunfire go off and when we came out," said Council Member Farah Louis. "We saw the commotion where it appeared to gentlemen got into a scuffle, and there was a shooting.”

Other neighbors in the area say they saw one of the men who "got off the ground and took out a gun."

Council Member Louis says her main goal is to work with police and take extra precautions to ensure the safety of her constituents.

As of Monday night, no arrests have been made.
