Pat Benatar and Carly Simon were selected in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2022.
The Brooklyn-born Benatar and Bronx-born Simon join Eminem, Dolly Parton, the Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Duran Duran, Carly Simon and Lionel Ritchie as this year's inductees.
"I'm very excited and pleased that we get to go in together," Benatar said of going in with her musical partner and husband Neil Giraldo.
Benatar was born in Brooklyn and raised in Lindenhurst.
A four-time Grammy-winner, Benatar is best known for her hits "Love is a Battlefield, "We Belong," "Invincible" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." She's had two Multi-Platinum albums, five Platinum albums, three Gold albums and 19 Top 40 singles over her career.
Simon grew up in Riverdale. A beloved singer-songwriter, she is best known for her hits "You're So Vain" and "Nobody Does It Better" among her 13 Top 40 songs. She's a two-time Grammy-winner and won an Academy Award for best original song for "Let the River Run" from 1988's "Working Girl"
"I can't even begin to tell you how many people are my favorites," said Simon. "It's like you join a list of your favorite singers and what does it mean? You're up there and it's a collection of names, but it's an honor and it's like an other honor - you've got something to show for it in your dreams. For the rest of your life, you're going to be dreaming about it and you're going to feel maybe silently proud."
